Today is Friday, Sept 12 - Bori was suppose to born today.
And today she's 6 weeks old :D
First of all about her: she's doing great. She's over 3kgs now, she was 3.3kg a week ago at the doctor's visit, so she should be around 3.5kgs now, which is over 7lbs. She's eating great, still waking up during the night, but it's not as tiring as I would have imagined .. with Reka I was sleeping through the night from the first month, so I was spoiled back then ;)
she sleeps a lot during the day, but more and more she's looking around, figuring out the world around her. She has big eyes, not sure about the color yet though, it's between blue and grey and maybe a little brownish, we'll see how it changes..
I'll post some pictures today.
We are doing great here in CA. Weather is nice, it was really warm for a bit, but now it's really great: we can go out to the garden in the afternoon to play :D
The past few weeks were quite busy as one can imagine: we had several doctor's visit, Reka got her immunization shots, whatever they don't give in Hungary (but why she didn't get them in NC, I wonder .. anyway).. it was last Friday, and she got 5 shots at the same time .. she was a brave girl!!
Bori had her first doctor's visit, and another well-baby visit 2 weeks after it. Also we went to the ophthalmologist to check on her eyes, cause I was told in Hungary, that I will need to do that, just to be on the safe side, since she was premature born.. everything is fine there too.
I'll have a couple of doctor's visit in the next 2-3 weeks, cause I've realized how much easier with my mom here to be able to babysit Bori and Reka.. so I should get over anything while she's here.
I've found a gym class for Reka: she has soo much energy, and I could see her dancing and "working out" in the house in front of the mirrors .. so we've tried out two different gyms, the first was not bad, but the second one was great, she had such a great time, so I've paid the registration fee and the September tuition right away.. :D I'll try to post some pics and video of her while in the glass a bit later.
She's also started daycare 2 weeks ago (St Luke's catholic preschool) and she likes it quite much. So far she's going 3 days/week half a day, so I'm (or my mom) picking her up after lunch .. but after my parents are gone I'll have her go 4 days a week I think, cause it's doing so much good to her. They had a parents/children/teacher meeting last evening, it was great to see the parents and get to know at least two or three of the parents.
However, the church that has the daycare isn't that nice .. the mass is terrible, the singers are really really out of tune, I could easily sing better, the priest was OK, but last week it was a vietnamise priest, of course I couldn't understand too much .. so we have to find another church, or try out every mass .. but of course I have to look around the kindergardens, to figure out which one will Reka go to .. cause of course if it'll be the St Luke's elementary, then I'll have to participate in church probably.. anyway, this is a whole new part that I'll have to figure out.
ok, I've realised now how much I have to tell you, and with not writing for several weeks, it's a lot, and probably tiring for you guys too to read ;)
so I'll stop now, and write again soon..
about the house, and post some pics as well :D

juci,
I am so happy that you called today. I was just thinking about you yesterday when I read your blog. Bori is soo cute and from what you say such an angel. I have stored your cell number so that way we can keep in touch. I'll look forward to see more pictures :) Take care,

Juci,
Sounds like everyone is doing great... I am impressed at all your activities and how well you are adjusting to your new home. Patrick will start swim lessons at the YMCA tomorrow and is very excited about this. Our oldest, Zack , is applying to colleges right now, and our daughter, Sara, is playing volleyball and continuing to play soccer even in the off season...so we are keeping busy.
At work, the lab is officially in its new home and we are all settling in. I wish you were here to see and enjoy it.
We miss you,
Patty
